Thumbs up Are Apple Saying Goodbye to DVDs? | Geek with Laptop

It is getting clearer that Apple want to say goodbye to DVDs and optical drives in general.Â* The recent announcement of the Mac Mini computers kids bape shoes last week saw them join forces with the MacBook Air models as 100% DVD free. While optical media drives have been going slowly out of fashion for many years now, no manufacturers have been brave enough to let them go completely.Â* However, with digital downloads on the rise and customers looking for lighter and more mobile devices, Apple think the cheap bape shoes time is right to say goodbye to the DVD. Apple has a history of innovation, although some of their decisions have frustrated users due to their – how to put it nicely – unique grasp on reality.Â* For example, back in 1998 they introduced the first iMac without a floppy drive, and they still refuse to acknowledge the usefulness of USB in the iPad. Apple’s decision to get rid of the humble spinning disk will have a number of implications, such as the physical edition of Mac OS X Lion coming out on a USB stick and not a disk.Â* There is also the home theatre crowd to consider, many of whom are angry that Apple have made this move. At Engadget, Nilay Patel is certainly not a fan of this decision, saying, “The bape store Mac mini looks like it’d be the ideal home theater PC … [but] having access to Hulu, Boxee, iTunes and Netflix is just half of the story – there aren’t too many HTPC owners that never pay their local Redbox a visit.” While Apple are probably leading the way with this move, the question is whether they are a little too far ahead of their time to remain truly user friendly.Â* After all, while many people Acer Laptop Batteries Review and News » Blog Archive » MSI Wind12 ... may only use their DVD drives rarely, it is nice knowing they are there should the situation arise.
