As an elementary school teacher, I have enjoyed reading about and implementing the strategies for writing that I found in The Secret DNA of Writing Essays��And Everything Else.
The NewView principles of writing in that book have been very useful in my own writing, as well as in the elementary school classroom that I teach. The sequences for good writing explained so superbly well in this book are effective not only for adults, but, with just a little simplification, also for third, fourth and fifth graders!
Using the NewView principles and techniques from that book, which I modified for them, my third, fourth, and fifth grade students learned how to recognize good writing and good writers. Once they got the hang of it, they enjoyed pointing out that their favorite authors could use a little help with NewView, too��and they were right,yves saint laurent platform!
Then they began using it in their own writing assignments. And the writing improved noticeably for all of my students in the two-month period I have taught them the NewView principles and methods, not to mention their much expanded awareness of good writing practices and what makes good prose. I��ve always been an Honors student,iron chi, and English is no exception. I usually get good grades on my essays and never really thought that writing was something I had to work on.
But then I read the ebook The Secret DNA of Writing Essays��And Everything Else. It is well written, and I understood it easily. When I finished it, I kind of wondered why nobody had talked about NewView before, it��s so simple and yet so powerful.
And after I wrote some essays using the NewView principles and methods, I realized that I could do so much better, and this program is helping me reach my full potential. Not only is it improving the quality of my work, it��s cutting the time I spend writing in half!

I��ve read the e-book The Secret DNA of Writing Essays��And Everything Else, and I��ve used the NewView Essay Services program on the Secret DNA website and simply had to send a testimonial.
No one in their right mind would ever accuse me of being a techie person, but I was blown away by the ease of use in the computer program and by the explanations, examples, and other tools available just a mouse click away. And the templates are just fantastic!

NewView is to essays what water is to life�Cyou can��t go without it, but it alone isn��t enough. As Stephen King said in his book On Writing, ��It is possible to turn a competent writer into a good one, but one must be competent as a starting point for such an improvement to be possible. ��
Unfortunately, it has been my experience that most students (and a good number of aspiring writers) simply aren��t competent. A writer who is unable to use spell check, form a grammatically coherent sentence, or get across a thought lucidly and concisely has no use for this book.
Secret DNA is an indispensable tool for decent writers who want to take their work to the next level, but it will not stand alone. Drew��s book should be used alongside a dictionary and The Elements of Style�Cnot by itself!
Drew is obviously very enthusiastic about his method, not to mention those others who have posted their reviews here. If you can get past the fact that he sounds like Billy Mays and they sound like groupies, you��ll benefit a lot from what he has to say.
