Waddell says economic times are hard for everyone and this is a way to help out.
The women were inspired after hearing teen girls talk about finding an affordable place to purchase a dress for the prom. Lucas and Golden came up with the idea of collecting gently used clothes and mentioned it to Waddell

"We got a lot of donations, and we continue to accept them

The women are asking those who use items from Dream to Dance to bring them back, but it is not a requirement to use the items. Waddell said there's not a financial need requirement either.
When the girls find the right dress, Waddell said it's like a magic transformation.
"When they try on the dress and come out for us to see; you see the smile on their face and their mother's face

As prom dates near, Waddell said she hopes all local students attending dances have something nice to wear.
"We have given away many dresses and a few suits; we also have shoes, some jewelry and accessories, which have also been donated," she said. "We still have a lot of beautiful dresses to choose from."
She said she hopes to expand the service outside the county in the future
