Accounting and MIS
We have a rich heritage of educating leaders in the academic and practicing professions. Our undergraduate accounting program is highly regarded as a top school, and is a national target recruiting program by many accounting firms and other employers. Our Honors Accounting undergraduate program and our MAcc programs have gained worldwide recognition for excellence. According to the 2009 Public Accounting Report's Annual Professors' Survey, our undergraduate and graduate programs rank 9th and 9th, respectively, and our Ph.D. program ranks 17th. We also create new knowledge to improve our collective understanding of accounting and its role in improving economic decisions for the benefit of society. Our research productivity for the 2007-2009 period, as measured by publications in the top 3 academic accounting journals (The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and Journal of Accounting Research) places up in the top 10 for research. Also, we founded and continue to host the Accounting Hall of Fame, which recognizes those who have made significant contributions to accounting thought and practice.
