Huge enhancements in Hyper-V. New document management abilities in file services. Supports live migration of virtual servers. VPN is now optional with Windows 7 clients. Support for 256 logical processors. Hyper-V supports up to 64 logical processors. Enhanced graphics for VMs via RemoteFX. Better performance for VMs with Dynamic Memory.
Cons
Making Clustering, Hyper-V,Buy Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010,How to acknowledge Academi.html, and DirectAccess work together with some enterprise services and hardware might require some planning and expertise. Many SMB servers have graphics cards that will not support enhanced RemoteFX.
Bottom Line
Windows Server 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1is bold and robust, and it can very well have a significant impact on the market. The R2 operating system has many key features that can boost productivity and help administrators gain control over many areas.
