Whenever you are shopping, see at the quality, no fair the brand. Some of the clothes in the factory outlets is brand fashionable and of great quality, but others have major defects which would make them no be a sale, at any amount. Be sure to retard the whole garment (buttons, seams, etc) ahead you buy it for they tin not be returned or refunded because they are sold "as is".

The shops carry either Grade A (best quality overruns) and Grade B (seconds with something erroneous with them so they didn't pass quality inspection by the purchaser - so-called "factory rejects". Depending on the concerts among buyers/factories and factory outlets, the items are often put up for bargain 3-6 months after they go on the market for full price elsewhere.

These shops are periodically called sisa export (export remnants) but are now often called asli-palsu (or real ########s) by Indonesians. Buyer beware - because meantime many of the items are actually factory overruns there are also a large digit of counterfeit items. Or ... take the train and enjoy the picturesque scenery and lots of room to shake around in! From Jakarta to Bandung there are 2 trains with executive level service which boasts nice reclining seats and atmosphere conditioning. (Business level has no a/c). The Argo Gede train is the more valuable one because it's half an hour faster than Parahyangan train. Argo Gede - Jakarta-Bandung trip is only double a day, takes 3 to 3 1/2 hours. The Parahyangan train prices slightly less and leaves Jakarta very frequently, but takes over 3 1/2 hours. Your driver can go to the Gambir station and purchase the stamps a before your departure, or if you want to be guaranteed of seating, get your stamps through a travel agent a week before departure. There are also shuttle services that run from Jakarta to Bandung on a regular foundation and are affordable and relatively cozy rides in buses.
Don't be wondered whether you see 'Made in Korea' or 'Made in Thailand' (to name a few) tags on the dress too as many of the shops purchase from agents who represents factories in these countries. Or, they are truly made in Indonesia and mis-labeled on purpose!

The true factory outlets offer overruns and seconds on export garments at bargain prices. The alien cache and foreign money price label often is still on the item ... i.e., US$ 65 ... with the Rp price next to it ... Rp 45,000 (US$4.50).

You can always drive there using your automobile, hire a Big Bird bus or Silver Bird - depending on vehicle via the new toll road the trip only takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours (compared to the before 3-5 hours via Puncak). Best not to voyage on weekends, public school holidays or long vacation weekends to shirk large vehicle jams.

Thius company sources products for export to Germany only so the brands are German brands. What they sell are not rejected products but specimens that they no longer use, but still in good condition with high quality. They have colossal selections of winter outfits so it's a absolute place if your looking for wrap or sweater, however they also have other garments too. Not too many expats know about this place (already) , but it's popular amid Indonesians whose children study overseas.

If you absence to spend a few days in town, you can penetrate the historic smudges in town, take a 1 1/2 hour junket to see the lively Tangkuban Perahu volcano. A 1+ hour hike down the jungle path from the visitors heart at the summit leads you to bubbling peppery springs where you can boil an eggs and gather sulphur encrusted rocks. Half an hour away is Sari Ater, a personal peppery springs complicated of hot springs pools where you can enjoy a cooler and more tolerable temperature! While in Bandung you can visit angklung factory, wayang golek factory, or take a historical excursion systematized by Bandung Trails.


You can be met at the train station by a Golden Bird rented limousine. Cost is per hour and depends on the type of car/van. The drivers are versed with the place of all the most popular factory outlet shops. Grab a fast bite to eat at McDonald's ... then start shopping. The driver ambition get you behind to the station in time to arrest the train behind.
