Sony rep: Japanese disaster has not affected NGP release
A report suggesting the Japanese earthquake and tsunami would delay the release of your NGP has reportedly been debunked by Sony.
“So far we see no impact from the quake on our launch plan,” a Sony representative said, according to The Wall Street Journal (subscriber content).
According to Sony’s man, the Bloomberg report on the matter, which had SCE America boss Jack Tretton citing the Japanese disaster as cause to release the new console in only one region, as simply “wrong”.
The spokesperson went on to explain that Sony never promised a simultaneous global launch,Office Enterprise 2007 Key, confirming earlier comments from Tretton on the subject.
Rumours have the console’s release pegged down for late 2011, with a November European release specifically mentioned.
Sony has revealed only that it will release the console in a staggered fashion, starting this year.
