ISLAMABAD: Senator Raza Rabbani said Wednesday that the devolution of Higher Education Commission (HEC) will not affect foreing funding and higher education in the country.
Speaking to the media the senator stressed that people pupils at the moment learning below the HEC’s scholarship programme will continue with their education.
The senators remarks come in the backdrop of nationwide protests against the devolution of the HEC with pupils stating that the move would undermine higher education in Pakistan and lead to a lack of funding.
Earlier on Wednesday the chairman of the commission said that the devolution of the HEC was not possible because the commission enjoyed constituional cover.
