Speaking with IndustryGamers,football mercurial vapor, analyst Ben Schachter has said that Modern Warfare 2 could well have sold in excess of seven million copies in its first week, worldwide.

Putting his figures together, the analyst also notes that the game sold over 1.23 million copies on its first day in the UK - doubling the previous launch sales record set by Grand Theft Auto IV.

"With GTA IV selling-through 6mm units worldwide in its first week,mercurial vapor 5, that suggests week one of Modern Warfare 2 worldwide sell-through could approximate - 11.7mm.
