DESIGNER?Julien Macdonald has appointed a marketing and merchandise adviser for the first time - Damian Shaw, formerly of?Chloe and?Liberty - and could not be extra incited about the future.
"I ambitioned to bring in someone with a more international eye in terms of merchandising, someone who understands the mercantile absences of the another marts worldwide, and who understands the complexities of the designer affair by this level," Macdonald told VOGUE.COM of Shaw's meeting. "His experience is helpful to us in terms of our strategic business intending and also because he understands the design process and how to get the best out of it commercially."
Shaw himself is seeing ahead to the challenge and to sending his Chloe experience to bear as the Julien Macdonald name expands international.
"The 1st prerogative is the sales planning of the autumn/winter 2009-10 collection," Shaw told us later his first six weeks in his new role. "We will be showing a small capsule pre collection in January because the first period, in advance of the runway collection in February. We are going on amplifying greater versatility among the collection with a stronger gist of coordinating separates and a greater emphasis above knitwear. The goal namely apt establish Julien Macdonald as a must-have brand for a ######y and confident woman."
