Skechers sues Sears over shoe patent,reebok shoes stores, trademark claims
Skechers USA Inc. sued Sears Holdings Corp. for selling footwear that infringes the patents and trademarks for products such as Shape-ups and Twinkle Toes.
Skechers is seeking monetary damages and a court-ordered prohibition of the sale of the products,reebok midcut black umpire plate shoes, the Manhattan Beach,skechers shape ups women's dash sandals, California-based company said today in a statement.
“While we value our relationship with Sears,skechers shape ups on sale, their actions are causing us tremendous damage,reebok reignman shoes, and we simply cannot let any company,reebok zig tech basketball shoes, let alone a company the size of Sears,reebok zigteck shoes orange and black, infringe on our most valuable intellectual property,reebok zigzag running shoes wearing out on the side,” Philip Paccione,reebok zigtech tennis shoes, Skechers' general counsel,reebok easy tone shoes, said in the statement.
Sears is selling the allegedly infringing products,reebok zig tech turf shoes, which go by the brand names TheraShoe,reebok zigzag running shoes review, Melrose Avenue,reebok store, Paris Blues and Athletech,skechers women's shape ups xf size 5.5, at Sears and Kmart stores and on websites,reebok womens shoes, Skechers said. Sears and Kmart also sell Skechers shoes,reebok classic shoes, according to their websites.
Skechers rose 30 cents,skechers shape ups for women, or 1.5 percent,reebok midcut black umpire plate shoes, to $20.02 at 2:49 p.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. The shares had fallen 1.4 percent this year before today. Sears gained $1.30,women's reebok simply tone shoes, or 1.6 percent,reebok tennis shoes, to $84.54 on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The shares had risen 13 percent this year before today.
