Hats Off To Mr Jones

THE most oft-heard lament among the few people who were silly/lazy/stupid enough to arrive sans chapeau to last night's opening of the Stephen Jones-curated Hats - An Anthology公众,大众 at the V&A was: "I wish I had worn a hat."
Indeed,monster earphone (http://www.headphonesites.org/), even among the behatted ones - and they were the clear majority - the overwhelming communal sentiment was: "We should wear hats more often." Why? Because hats are rollicking good fun.
Our favourite hats? The cardboard boats deserve a special mention, as do the ladies whose home-made daffodil and newspaper hats did them proud, and the fashionista who came wearing a towering headband that had been constructed by a colleague using staples, mesh and a hole-punch showed that the best ingredient for a great hat is a healthy dose of creativity.
Erin O'Connor, Blur's Alex James,?Jade Parfitt and?Daisy Lowe admired the exhibition's historic boaters,belstaff clothing (http://www.belstaffsalejacket.com/), fascinators,Asics Mexico 66 (http://www.asicstigershoes.com/asics-mexico-66-new-arrival-c-32.html), Stetsons, toppers and many of Stephen Jones' creations for the likes of Christian Dior (http://www.eslouboutinshoes.com/), Giles and John Galliano,goldwin ski (http://www.goldwinskijacket.org/), which sat comfortably beside Cecil Beaton bonnets for My Fair Lady and iconic Elsa Schiaparelli creations, while the Jones himself could be seen - trademark twinkle firmly in his eye - milling about the grand,birkenstock boots (http://www.birkenstockshoess.org), very crowded hall.

Today I am leaving for a two week vacation to Europe. My long lost college roommate and I are going to be hitting up Spain and Italy and in Italy Vlad will be meeting up with us for a Gondola ride or two! I am super excited for this vacation and this time will actually be vacationing. We are lucky enough to have someone who will write posts for me while I am gone, Nerdphanie! You all remember her as a guest blogger! Now she is signed on as a two week blogger to fill my spot. She will bring you lots of new bags and goodies to look at. I will be posting sporadically, but not my usual four or five posts a day
