Fall 2010 New York, Fashion Week, The Business Getty’s Backstage Photog Tells Us What It’s Like To Shoot New York Fashion Week By Lauren Sherman Thursday, Feb 18,There’s a Billionaire Who Wants to Buy Barneys – Fashionista Fashion Industry (http://www.skrisk.com/forums/index.php?topic=170392.msg180312#msg180312), 2010 / 10:00 AM GMT -5
Do you know all the names of the models, designers and socialites?
No. I wish, it would make my job a lot easier and less awkward.
Tell me something you’ve never told anyone else about working for Getty during NYFW.
The team of people that support the photographers is amazing. They work insane hours to make the front and back end of what we shoot seamless. From making the phone calls and emails to make sure that all of our photographers are RSVPed to the events, to the field editors uploading our photos minutes after the event. I don’t think there is another agency that can handle the same amount of events and content.
How long have you been doing it for?
I started shooting fashion week six years ago.
When it’s not fashion week, what kind of stuff do you cover?
Anything that’s “entertainment news.” That includes concerts,Fashionista Fashion Industry News, Designers, Runway Shows, Style Advice (http://enginebarn.netfirms.com/picturepro/nfpicturepro/displayimage.php?pos=-169), press conferences, movie premieres, music and film festivals,Dolce Gabbana Sunglasses (http://www.sunglasses-club.com/dolce-gabbana-sunglasses), parties, book and CD signings.
Fashionista: So, how’d you get this gig?
Bryan Bedder My friend Thos Robinson introduced me to an assignment editor at Getty that was looking for some new stringers to work fashion week.

Getty photog Bryan Bedder gave up some precious spare time at Milk Studios to explain how he landed at the beautiful mess that is New York Fashion Week.
What’s the best thing about shooting backstage as opposed to the pits and vice versa?
Backstage you can be creative and you can roam around,More Lanvin x H&M News A Post-Fashion Show Shopping Party for New York Editors! – Fashionista Fashion Industry News, Designers, Runway Shows, Style Advice (http://www.ashevilleultimate.org/coppermine/displayimage.php?pos=-35), but sometimes it gets real packed with people and can get stressful. Shooting from the shows from pit is fun because you get into a groove with the music. But it is tough. You have to get in a spot and stand there for a few hours without moving.
