Walking boots are set to be the key footwear trend for autumn/winter 2010/11
Get ready to ramble: walking boots have inspired the must-have footwear for next winter.

Walking boots have inspired the must-have footwear for next autumn/winter.

They made a brief appearance at New York, most obviously at Michael Kors , the jet set designer who called them "ruggedly ######y". They were a fixture of London Fashion Week, where models walked in tough-chic, walking-style boots, decorated with sheepskin, at Pringle , and in slightly more sophisticated,Nike men shoes (http://www.nikeshoesshop.org/specials.html), multi-buckled styles,mlb jersey (http://www.hotjerseys4you.com/mlb-jerseys-c-62.html), at Burberry Prorsum .
Now, at Milan Fashion Week, "walking boots" are the latest "lust-haves". At Sportmax , they came in multi-colours, with technical lace-up details and ridged,asics running shoes (http://www.asicstigershoes.com/products_all.html), rubber soles.
Tod's (http://www.todssaleshoes.org/), the de luxe Italian shoe brand, however,supra skate shoes (http://www.sellsuprashoe.org/products_all.html), has given them the ultimate seal of approval. Its autumn/winter collection, unveiled yesterday, featured at least a dozen different variations on the walking boot.

But I can't imagine having completed Wainwright's Coast to Coast in the more extreme, four-inch, stack-heeled, platform-rubber variations in metallic leather and suede - even though the soles look as tough as old boots.
Tod's (http://www.esalesite.org/) has even done a shoe-boot and a court shoe, complete with quilted ankle-cuffs and with the walkers' favourite rubber sole. Perfect for urban puddles, even though they may not make it from Patterdale to Shap.
