Radio Heartland Target affected by Epsilon security breach by Nancy Lebens, Minnesota Public Radio

St. Paul,Office 2010 Activation (http://www.windows7-key.ca/office-2010-key), Minn. — Target Corporation is now among the companies notifying customers that their email addresses may be used by in Internet scams.

Target says it was told about the security breach by marketing firm Epsilon, but didn't say when. Two other Minnesota companies, Best Buy and US Bank also sent email notices to customers warning them not to respond to emails asking for personal information.

Epsilon reported a security breach in which the email addresses of customers were released. The 20-plus companies affected include Amazon.com, Walgreens,Office 2010 Professional Plus Key (http://www.office-2007-key.co.uk/office-2010-key), TiVo, and the College Board, the organization that runs the SATs.

OTHER COMPANIES AFFECTED:

- Amazon.con Inc.'s AbeBooks subsidiary;

- Ameriprise Financial Inc., asset management and financial planning company;

- Barclays Bank (company says breach affects U.S. customers of Barclaycard);

- Best Buy Co.;

- Capital One Financial Corp.;

- Citigroup Inc. (company says information limited to customers of Citi's North American credit card businesses);

- The College Board, not-for-profit organization that runs the
SATs;

- Ethan Allen Interiors Inc., home furnishings retailer;

- Hilton Worldwide, hotel chain whose brands include Hilton,
DoubleTree, Hampton Inn and Waldolf Astoria;

- HSN Inc., a retailer with roots in the Home Shopping Network;

- JPMorgan Chase & Co.;

- Kroger Co.,Office 2010 Professional Plus (http://www.windows7-key.org/office-2010-key), grocery chain; Marriott International Inc., hotel chain whose brands include Marriott,Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 (http://www.office2007-key.co.uk/), Renaissance, Fairfield Inn and Ritz-Carlton;

- McKinsey & Co., a management consulting firm (company says breach affected only subscribers of McKinsey Quarterly magazine);

- New York & Co., apparel chain; TiVo Inc., digital video recorder service;

- US Bancorp, financial company whose brands include US Bank;

- Walgreen Co., drug store chain; Walt Disney Co.'s travel subsidiary, Disney Destinations.
