"Nov. 3, 1942: Pushing through New Guinea jungles in a jeep, General Douglas MacArthur inspects the positions and movements of ***United Nations Forces***".... three years before the UN was formed in 1945. Neat trick. I suspect the writer meant allied forces. I'm guessing from the uniforms that they were Aussies. Awesome set of photos - both my dad and my grandad served in the Pacific.

Wait what? You kinda went off on a tangent. If you wanted to segue into the Civil Rights of the time, you could have at least mentioned the woman pilots or the Tuskegee airmen. I mean, they didn't get the recognition they deserved at the time, not to mention being secreted away from the rest of the military.

I know it started, I watched it already, I was just asking why everyone is acting like it didn't.

I think you're right to some extent,Office 2007 (http://www.office2007-key.co.uk/), but today kids have poor diets, short attentions spans, and distorted views of what they deserve. I didn't mean to imply anything about today's actual soldiers (who are volunteers).

It just started last night on the AFN for the military. It's free here (no HBO required), so I'm sure it lags the HBO presentation by a week or more...

Yeah, I'd agree with that. We're soft, life's pretty easy in the grand scheme of things. Maybe there's some good to that.
