The rumors circulating previously this week had been accurate: Microsoft has decided to pull the plug on its MSN/Windows Live Butterfly system.More than the previous few several years,Microsoft Office 2007 Product Key (http://www.msoffice2007key.net/), the Butterfly testers got pre-beta Windows Live goods and providers before the public had a chance to test them. They supplied Microsoft with normal feedback and did some neighborhood outreach.I asked Microsoft about its decision to close the system. A spokesperson sent the subsequent response:“The Butterfly group has been involved in beta testing MSN and Windows Reside goods for a number of many years. Rather than continue the system as something only focused on beta testing,Windows 7 Ultimate (http://www.office2007-key.org/windows-7-key), we’re offering the group a variety of options to engage in the broader Windows Live local community,Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise (http://www.windows-7-key.us/office-2007-key), including the option to join the MVP (Most Valuable Professional) system and continued and future access to beta testing opportunities.”Wikipedia;s already been updated to reflect the demise of the Butterfly system,Office 2010 Activation (http://www.office2010-key.org/), noting it was closed in June 2009.Update: I see a number of folks noting on Facebook and Twitter that they obtained their MVP renewal notices from Microsoft today,Office 2010 Professional (http://www.office2007-key.eu/office-2010-key), the first day of Microsoft;s fiscal 2010. I wonder if any former Butterflies will be among the 2010 MVP crew.
