I got this request from a customer who is trying to analyze their environment as it pertains to Access and Excel files: Can we use WSH and VBScript to get this type of basic information out of files in an automated fashion? Both MS Access and Excel have a well defined object model i.e. it should be easy to write a script that opens the file, queries the various collection objects, and dumps the contents (e.g. Table Names in Access,Office Professional 2007 (http://www.office2007key.eu), Pivot Table objects in excel,Office 2010 Pro Plus (http://www.key-office-2010.de/), Data source names in either etc for Excel and Access 2000)? The Office migration planner has some really good tools for understanding what is in your organization. Here is a description of the tool: The Office Migration Planning Manager (OMPM) is a collection of tools that enables you to prepare your environment for migration to the 2007 Microsoft Office system. OMPM checks for,Microsoft Office 2010 Pro (http://www.key-office-2010.de/), and reports on,Windows 7 64bit (http://www.windows7serialkey.com/), file properties to help you analyze your environment and determine any issues that you might experience converting from Office 97-Office 2003 file formats to the new 2007 Office system file format. Enjoy,Microsoft Office 2010 Professional (http://www.microsoftoffice2010key.net/)! <div
